What SurfSizer uses today

No cookies. None at all — not essential ones, not analytics, not advertising, not preferences.

The site also does not use local storage or session storage. Nothing you enter into a calculator is kept between page loads, which is why the inputs reset when you reload.

You do not have to take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools, look under Application or Storage, and you will find the cookie list for surfsizer.com empty.

What cookies are, briefly

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, which the browser sends back on later visits. They are how sites keep you logged in, remember a language preference, count visitors, or track you across different websites to target advertising. The last of those is the reason cookie banners exist.

Cookies are usually described as first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by another company whose code the site loads). SurfSizer loads no third-party code at all, so third-party cookies cannot be set here.

Advertising cookies

SurfSizer does not currently show advertising and does not set advertising cookies.

If advertising is introduced in future, it would be served by Google AdSense. From that point, third-party vendors including Google would use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and those cookies would be set by Google rather than by SurfSizer. Nothing you type into a calculator would be shared with them, because the calculators still would not send it anywhere.

None of that will happen quietly. Before any advertising cookie can be set, three things will be in place: a consent banner offering accept, reject and manage-by-category, with the choice saved and reopenable; Google Consent Mode configured so that advertising and analytics storage default to denied until you actively consent; and updated text on this page and in the Privacy Policy describing exactly what is set and why.

Controlling and opting out

There is nothing on this site to opt out of at present. For the wider web, these are the useful controls:

• Google Ads Settings — turn off personalised advertising across Google's services.
• aboutads.info/choices — opt out of participating third-party vendors.
• Your Online Choices — the equivalent for the EU and UK.

Every major browser also lets you block or delete cookies directly, usually under Settings then Privacy. Blocking all cookies breaks logins on many sites, but it will not break anything here, because this site does not use any.

Changes to this policy

The date at the top shows the last revision. If cookies are ever introduced, this page will say so before they appear rather than afterwards.
