This policy explains what SurfSizer does and does not do with information when you use surfsizer.com. It is written to describe how the site actually behaves today, and it will be updated before that behaviour changes.
What the calculators collect
Nothing. Every calculator on this site — surfboard volume, wetsuit thickness, wetsuit size, leash length and wax grade — runs as JavaScript inside your own browser. The weight, height, chest measurement, ability, age and water temperature you enter are used to compute a result on your device and are never transmitted. There is no server behind the calculators to receive them.
Nothing you enter is stored either. The site does not use cookies, local storage or session storage to remember your inputs, so closing the tab discards them.
Third-party services
The site loads no resources from third-party domains. There are no external fonts, no content delivery libraries, no embedded videos, no social media widgets, no tracking pixels and no analytics. Every stylesheet, script and image comes from surfsizer.com itself. You can verify this in your browser's network inspector.
Advertising
SurfSizer does not currently display advertising, and no advertising cookies are set.
Advertising may be introduced in future. If it is, it will be served by Google AdSense, and the following will apply from the point it goes live: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices. You can also read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Before any advertising is enabled, a cookie consent banner offering accept, reject and manage options will be in place, and this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated to describe exactly what is set.
Server logs
The site is hosted on shared hosting, and like almost all web servers the host keeps standard access logs. These typically record the IP address making a request, the time, the page requested, the referring page and the browser's user agent string. They are generated by the hosting infrastructure for security and diagnostics, not by SurfSizer, and they are not used to build any profile of you or combined with anything you enter into the calculators.
If you email us
If you write to hello@surfsizer.com, your email address and whatever you put in the message are received in an ordinary mailbox so the message can be answered. Correspondence is not added to a mailing list, is not used for marketing and is not shared with anyone. There is no newsletter to sign up to.
Children
SurfSizer is a general-audience sizing tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because the site collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Your rights
Data protection law in various places, including the UK and EU GDPR and the CCPA in California, gives you rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Those rights are straightforward to satisfy here: the site holds no personal data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct or delete. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, ask and it will be.
Changes to this policy
The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes — in particular the introduction of advertising, analytics or cookies — will be reflected here before they take effect, not after.
